Step-by-Step removal of OWC10 (or 11).DLL
Thanks to Jim Gregerson
In Access: New ACCDB Files. (When converted from the old MDB file format in the 2002 2003
era, to the ACCDB format), sometimes (almost always before fixing) show a corruption when you
open the 2007 Access or later program.
It shows: Your Microsoft Access database or project contains a missing or broken reference to
the file OWC10.DLL, version 1.2. To ensure that your database or project works properly, you
must fix the reference.
To fix it, do the following: (Note, make a back-up of your database before proceeding!)
1. Open your Access database by holding down the Shift Key (on your keyboard)
until the file is completely opened)
2. Hit Ctrl + G (The screen goes grey (blank).
3. Then select Tools on the Menu Bar
4. Then References
5. In the window that opens uncheck the box: MISSING: Microsoft Office XP Web
Components
6. Then hit OK, closing out of that window
7. Then select Debug on the Menu Bar then Compile
8. Then close out of your Access database
9. Reopen your Access database to make sure everything still works as expected.
