2STUDENT AFFAIRS STAFF MEMBER GUIDE
Welcome from Dr. Kathy Cavins-Tull
Welcome to the Division of Student Affairs at TCU! We’re glad you’re here! Whether this is your rst
professional position or another step in your career, I am certain that your professional experience at TCU
will be a great opportunity for learning and one that you’ll enjoy. As a new member of the TCU and Fort
Worth community, I think you’ll nd a rich and dynamic environment on campus and in our city and I
hope you’ll feel the warmth of a very interdependent university community. Best of all is the great group
of students that we are privileged to work with every day! It won’t be long before you will truly know how
special it is to be a TCU Horned Frog!
TCU is committed to creating a world-class, values-centered university, and the departments within our
division are a fundamental element in bringing this vision to life. From large scale initiatives like Frogs First
and LEAPS, to everyday interactions in our residence halls, chapter houses or Market Square, the Student
Affairs staff is involved and invested in our students’ lives. How lucky we are to have the opportunity to
participate in the growth and development of our students as responsible citizens and ethical leaders in
our global society.
This manual has been developed to help familiarize you with the people and resources of our division and
our community. I hope that you will nd it useful and I look forward to welcoming you in person soon.
Go Frogs!

TCU MISSION, VISION, AND CORE VALUES
MISSION
To educate individuals to think and act as ethical leaders and responsible citizens in the global community.
VISION
To create a world-class, values-centered university experience for our students.
CORE VALUES
TCU values academic achievement, personal freedom and integrity, the dignity and respect of the
individual, and a heritage of inclusiveness, tolerance and service.
GOALS
1. STRENGTHEN ACADEMIC PROFILE AND REPUTATION
To maintain our momentum, we will continue to pursue the brightest students and will increase
undergraduate enrollment by roughly 600 students for a total student body of 11,000 in coming years.
2. STRENGTHEN ENDOWMENT
By strengthening our endowment, we will lessen the pressure and unsustainability of continual tuition
increases. We will also signicantly increase our nancial strength and competitive advantage.
3. STRENGTHEN TCU EXPERIENCE AND CAMPUS CULTURE
TCU’s culture – that sense of spirited belonging – is one of our greatest strengths, equally as important as
the academic experience.
4. STRENGTHEN WORKFORCE (BOTH EMPLOYEES AND GRADUATES)
To be the best, we must nurture the strongest faculty and staff who will then prepare our graduates to
use their University degrees and experiences to make positive and lasting contributions to society.
4STUDENT AFFAIRS STAFF MEMBER GUIDE
The Division of Student Affairs at TCU provides student programs and services that support student success
and enhance the collegiate experience. TCU offers a rich learning environment, and through a variety of
experiences, students engage in a process of intellectual, personal, moral and social development.
STUDENT AFFAIRS LOGO
In order for Student Affairs to build a strong brand on campus and in the community it is essential for all
divisions to follow branding guidelines. If everyone works together, we will enhance the image of each
department as well as the overall image of Student Affairs and TCU.
When each department uses the Student Affairs logo it creates awareness of what Student Affairs does
and how imperative the division is to the TCU student experience.
Below are the logo guidelines
The Student Affairs logo must be visible on all communications that departments develop. This includes
printed materials, emails, website, etc.
The logo should be easily visible, large enough to read and high quality so it is not pixilated.
If you do not have an electronic version of the logo please contact Susan Nethery at 817-257-5641or
[email protected] and she will assist you.
Below are examples of the approved Student Affairs logos for various departments
For more information please visit the Student Affairs Marketing website (https://studentaffairs.tcu.edu/
