2021 – 2022 MENTOR Program: Making Education for New Teachers to Obtain
Results: $35,000 grant-funded collaboration with university and district
partners to provide teacher candidates of color with racially-matched
clinical educators, as well as professional development workshops focused
on promoting classroom equity, inclusion, and belonging.
2020 – 2022 Profound Niners: $15,000 grant-funded campus-community partnership
with Profound Gentlemen to strengthen the recruitment, support, and
retention of male teachers of color by providing paid internships male
undergraduate students of color. Internships include K-12 classroom
mentorship, impact coaching, and personal and professional development
from current male educators of color.
2020 – 2022 Niner for a Day: Yearly campus event for high school juniors and seniors
interested in pursuing a career in education. Collaborate with university
and district partners to offer experiences such as workshops, campus tours,
college classroom visits, panel discussions, virtual reality teaching
simulations, and ongoing mentorship from current Education majors.
