for
the
Proposed
Designation
The
Robert
Agar House
is
reco11n11ended
for
designation
on
architectural
grounds
as
a good example
of
a
mid-nine.teenth
century,
red-brick
Ontario
farmhouse
exhibiting
particular
features
designed
in
the
Classical
Revival
style.
The
front
facade
is
embellished
by
white·
b.rick
de.tail,ing
providing
a
stylized
entablature
and
simulated
corner
quoins
while
the
front
doorway,
with
its
rectangular
glazed
transom
and
sidelight,
xhibits
further
elements
borrowed
from
the
Classical
Reviv
1
styl

By-law
to
designate
the
building
known
municipally
as
8700
Huntington
Road,
Kleinburg,
as
being
of
architectural
value
or
interest.
WHEREAS
Section
29
of
the
Ontario
Heritage
Act,
R.S.O.
1980,
authorizes
the
council
of
a
municipality
to
enact
by-laws
to
designate
real
property,
including
all
buildings
and
structures
thereon,
to
be
of
architectural
or
historical
value
or
interest;
and,
WHEREAS
the
Council
of
The
Corporation
of
the
Town
of
Vaughan
has
caused
to
be
served
on
the
owners
of
the
lands
and
premises
the
''Robert
House''
at
8700
Agar
known
as
Huntington
Road,
Kleinburg,
and
upon
the
Ontario
Heritage
Foundation,
notice
of
intention
to
so
designate
the
building
located
on
the
aforesaid
real
property
and
has
caused
such
notice
of
intention
to_
be
published
in
the

newspape.r
having
general
circulation
in
the
municipality
once
for
each
of
three
consecutive
weeks;
and,
WHEREAS
no
notice
of
obJection
to
the
proposed
designation
has
been
served
on
the
Clerk
of
the
municipality;
THEREFORE
The
Corporation
of
the
Town
of
Vaughan
ENACTS
AS
FOLLOWS:

There
is
designated
as
being
of
architectural
value
or
interest
the
building
known
as
the
''Robert

House''
situated
at

Huntington
Road,
Kleinburg,
and
located
on
that
part
of
Lot
12,
Concession
10,
in
the
Town
of
Vaughan
in
the
Regional
Municipality
of
York
and
more
